Swedish Meatballs and Cream Sauce

Dah laamaaaaaa nak makan swedish meatballs. Memang la IKEA dkt je dgn rumah, tapi masalahnye tak leh makan dagingnya. Takkan la mintak sauce aje kan? Weird ok! So, sebelum raya hari tu shopping groceries dkt Asda, nampak magazine Asda, so ambik sebab free. Saya mmg tak berapa gemor nak membeli magazine ni. Dalam kereta belek-belek, ada jumpe recipe swedish meatballs. Jangan main-main dalam tu ada recipe rendang daging wehh, terkejut pulak tgk nye. Tapi rasanya ni version Indonesian kot sebab tukang bg recipe itu adalah Indonesian.

So hari ni malas nak masak nasik dan masak swedish meatballs adalah sgt senang ok!
Ingredients:
500g beef mince.
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon mixed ground spice
dill or parsley
50g fresh breadcrumbs

Method:
1. Buat breadcrumbs dulu. 3 keping roti masuk dalam oven, keluarkan bile dah keras, 15 minutes will do. Pastu blend gune dry blender. Siap.
2. Beef mince di lap dengan kitchen towel.
3. Masukkan beaten egg, ground spice, dill/parsley and breadcrumbs. 
4. Bulatkan2.
5. Panaskan minyak.
6. Masukkan meatballs tersebut.
7. Balik-balikkan sampai semua sides brownish.Siap!

I didn't put any dill or parsley plus the ground spice. Instead I added salt, black pepper and paprika. Yum yum! Ni aku tunjuk portion Mrkamahkamah, kang korang pengsan tengok portion aku, hehehe.

Pastu kena buat cream sauce.

Ingredients:
300ml hot chicken stock
100g Creme Fraiche
2tbsp cranberry sauce.
2 level tsp cornflour

Method:
1. Add the stock, creme fraiche and cranberry sauce in a new pan until it simmering, stirring with a wooden spoon to scrape the juices from the base of the pan for a rich flavour.
2. Once it simmer, return the meatballs to sauce pan and simmer for another 10 minutes.
3. Mix the cornflour with a little cold water to make smooth paste. Add to the sauce and bring back to the boil.

So malas kan? Guna aje la creme sauce IKEA. Laaaagi senang. Tapi sauce ni just utk 2-3 org sepeket. So, agak2 sapa suka banyak gravy sile buat sendiri gravynye or beli banyak2 paket gravy ni ye. IKEA creme sauce ni agak senang, bring to boil 280ml water then add 70g single cream and the IKEA creme sauce. Siap!


Oh sedap!
Kalau nak tunggu balik Malaysia sebab nak makan swedish meatballs adalah berjanggut.
So buat sendiri, senang pulak tuu..

CikSom: Penat tau I pikir equation yg sesuai utk jumlah MBs yg I makan.. kalau to the power two, mcm la banyak sgt kann..

i makan banyak ni je = (Mrkamahkamah's X 2) + 2 ; heheheh..

Ibusinga: ni recipe mudah yg saya amik la, sedap pun sedap.. kalau nak recipe lain, ada dkt blog Zarin (http://periukbelangazarin.blogspot.com/2010/11/erkkswedish-meatball.html).. creme fraiche tu takde jual eh dkt kedai malaysia? kalau takde, guna cara ni:
1 cup chilled sour cream
1 cup chilled heavy cream

Method:
Whisk the sour cream and heavy cream together. You can use it immediately or allow it to sit out at room temperature for a few hours to thicken and sour a little more.

Bujal: Kami guna daging fresh.. suruh butcher amik 500g daging and tlg kisarkan.. lagi sedap gitu! hehehhe

KOG: a;ah, kalau nak makan swedish meatballs, pegi sweden la kann.. tapi terpaksa makan swedish meatballs version swine la kan.. hehehhe
