Chilli Philly Pasta Bake

  •   I never tasted chilli corn-carne dish. Normally people have chilli corn-carne with tortilla wrap or rice.  And today I'm making pasta bake with chilli corn-carne. Now I know that one of the smells that always coming out from EECE cafe is this, chilli corn-carne sauce. I always wondering what is this smell as I walked pass the cafe, sometimes bau macam serunding pun ye jugak. Chilli corn-carne sauce has red bean in it, so for those who doesn't like red bean, you might don't like this.

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlics
  • 300g lean minced beef
  • 1 large jar readymade chilli con-carne sauce
  • 300g while wheat penne
  • 120g Philadelphia Light with Garlic & Herbs
  • 1 egg
  • 150g 0% fat Greek yoghurt
  • 40g cheddar cheese
  • 1 spoon of blended chillies

Method

1. Heat the oven to 180C. 
2. Heat a large frying pan, fry the onion and garlics.
3. Add the  blended chillies and let it cook for 5 minutes.
4. Brown the mince.
5. Add the chilli con-carne sauce and cook for 5 mins. 
6. Cook the penne according to the pack instructions and drain. 
7. Pour over the chilli mixture and combine well.
8. In a bowl mix together the Philadelphia, egg, yoghurt and half of the cheese.
9. Tip the pasta into a large oven proof dish then pour over the Philadelphia mixture. Top with the remaining cheese and cook for 20 mins until browned on top.




            The minute I saw this recipe, I said I want it! Actually, I just want to see how hot it could be. Aku kan gile sambal. When I was in the process of making it, I said to myself, this couldn't be that hot. So, I made a twist, by frying the onion plus garlics, and add a spoon of blended chillies. Bile dah makan, hek elehhhh, tak pedas ponggg!!! Baik la aku masukkan chilli padi je tadi, chaitt!!! Kecoh aa omputih ni, out of 10, kepedasannya adalah 0.8. Itu setelah tambah cili blend, kalau takk? Nan-ado ok! Tapi sedap aaa..especially bila makan part ada cheese+yogurt tuh.. nyam nyam!!!

            Nampak cam best. I nih kaki cheese jugak tapi sendiri mau pikir, have to go easy on anything fatty (berlari setempat 24jam pun tak meninggalkan kesan. Ishh..)

            ko ni pun.. tekak mat saleh nyer pedas mmg jauh dari tekak kita ;p Tabasco sauce tu langsung x hot ;p

            Somuffins: i kadang2 terpaksa pikir masak cheese, if I have cheese, so no rice for today..susahkan kalau badan ni suka beno nak mengelembong disana sini, makan nye tak de la banyak sgt.. hehehe

            Pe'jah: chilli con-carne ni kan asalnye mexico.. omputih kata makanan mexico ni pedas.. tapi ampehh!!!
