Nasi Ayam Penyet and The Crabs

Mission accomplished : Nasi Ayam Penyet (Smashed Chicken Rice?). No photos. What makes Nasi Ayam Penyet different from the normal chicken rice is the herbs that we used to marinate the chicken as well as the sambal to accompany the chicken. The taste is superb (yes, it was!) and I still have the sambal balance in the fridge (anyone?). Click here for the recipe.

Mileen was just back from Wales and she bought me three big crabs , it was only 10pound! Take a look at the crabs pics (please focus on the claws).


They were still alive when we received it. I was too freaked out because of the size, so I decided to "kill" the crabs slowly. The method: coldness. I asked Mrgrammarindahouse to put the crabs in the plastic bag and then stuffed it in the freezer. Since they are too large for the three of us (triple size of a normal crab in Malaysia), I think I can come out with two dishes with those three crabs, yay!

sik tauk ketam apa k.sue.. tapi besar la.. kmk terpaksa ngetok claws nya guna playar.. kmk sikda mortar.. nyaman isik nya.. manis ada jak.. kmk sik tauk nok ne sigek ketam kalok.. kmk masak chilli crabs.. esok mkn gik ketam.. esok kmk molah ketam masak cili api..hehehe

Crabs tu dah overshadow nasi ayam penyet.. Lagipun rupa ayam penyetku itu tak nampak penyet pun.. kuang kuang
